Free Name Exchange (FNE) was the first only website on the internet to offer a free marketplace for buying and selling domain names. FNE had RealityDesign build completely custom software from the ground up. With both the front-end and back-end built from scratch, this software was truly one of a kind. The internet had never seen such a complex, yet easy to use software for listing domain names before. With its massive list of features, blazing fast speed, and competative price (free!), it came as no suprise when it swept the domain name aftermarket by storm.
Shortly after its launch in April of 2007, many of the premiere “charge sites” started offering their own free versions of their domain name listing services.
